Position Title: Line Cook

Name of Employer: King's Creek Country Club, Inc.

Positions Available: Five (5), full-time and temporary

Location of Employment: 1 King's Creek Circle, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971 (Sussex County)


Position Duties:

Line Cooks will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items in a restaurant, portioning, arranging, and garnishing food, inspecting and cleaning food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, ensuring freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock, and ensuring food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.


Rate of Pay: $15.00 - $18.00/hour, DOE (The employer will pay or exceed the prevailing wage, as determined by the US Dept of Labor.)


One free meal per shift included.

Hours per Week: 40 (OT is possible, to be paid at $22.50 - $27.00/hour, DOE)


Start Date: 04/01/2023

End Date: 10/15/2023


Work hours: 40 hrs/wk. Work schedule can vary and can include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Days off vary. Sample Shifts: 9am - 5pm; or 2pm - 10pm. Shifts may vary. Workers are paid bi-weekly.


A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Workers will be paid every two weeks by direct deposit. Employer will help employee set up an account if needed. All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made.


Housing is offered and optional. The cost of housing, if accepted, is $175.00 per week. Cost of housing includes utilities. If used, the total cost of housing will be deducted from the employee's paycheck. Employer will provide DAILY transportation to and from housing to and from the worksite. Specifically, the Employer provides bikes to all employees as well as a bus system to provide daily transportation to and from housing to and from the worksite.


3 months experience required. THE PETITIONER WILL CONSIDER ANY PERSON FOR EMPLOYMENT WHO POSSESSES AT LEAST THREE (3) MONTHS OF CULINARY EXPERIENCE IN A FINE-DINING OR HIGHVOLUME ENVIRONMENT AT A HIGH-END RESTAURANT, RESORT, OR PRIVATE CLUB.

No min education or training is required. On-the-job training is provided. Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, by check separate from payroll, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. In other words, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work by check separate from payroll. Upon completion of the work contract period, or where the employee is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker reasonable cost of return transportation and subsistence back home or the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $14.00 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
